For the month of May the team at Hudson Homes wanted to do something different for morning tea which is why we decided to support the cancer council in Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea. On Thursday the 24th of May our staff in Head Office showed their support in the fight against cancer and enjoyed morning tea in our office in Parramatta.

The Biggest Morning Tea is celebrated throughout Australia, from schools to Work Places; it is an easy way to bring people together and raise money for the fight against cancer. Since its launch on the 24th of May 1993, it has been a grand scale opportunity to spread awareness about cancer and help people share their personal experiences with cancer over a cuppa while sharing delicious food.

Last year The Biggest Morning Tea raised $11.9 million dollars and this year the cancer council is hoping to raise $13 million to help fund research and prevention as well as support services for those affected by cancer.

Our staff raised money by trading in their breakfast and donating to the cause. Matching all donations dollar for dollar Hudson Homes doubling the amount raised. The money that we have raised has been allocated to providing annual training and support for volunteers so that they can offer ongoing emotional and practical support for those impacted by cancer.

Like many Australia’s, some of our team at Hudson Homes have also been affected by cancer and we wanted to show our support and do what we could to help those who in need.
We thank everyone who participated and donated to this worthy cause and we hope in the future we can do more to help the fight against cancer.
