Hudson Homes is Going Green
As part of our forthcoming ISO14001 Environmental Certification we have embarked on a continuous improvement program. Achieving this certification will not be easy, so we thank our team for their ongoing dedication. We have updated internal processes, and implemented a new environmental program that aims to reduce our environmental footprint and make our business more sustainable.
Check out the environmental initiatives we have implemented:
In office
We have added a co-mingle recycling program. This included the implementation of dedicated recycling bins around the office to help reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill.
Construction Sites
We have implemented some big changes at our construction sites. Our new environmental initiatives mean that we are now:
- Recycling up to 98% of waste bricks, steel, tiles, plasterboard etc.
- Reviewing the use of new sustainable building products as they become available.
- Ensuring sediment fences and drain sock remain intact to prevent soil erosion & sediment entering our waterways
One of our most important long-term goals is to calculate our overall carbon footprint so we can begin to reduce the impact that Hudson Homes has on the environment.
This is an ongoing program with input greatly welcomed. We will be holding regular workshops with our team to brainstorm more ideas and discuss how they can be incorporated into our goals and objectives.
